Basi or Rice Wine is the local alcoholic beverage of Ilocano especially in the Northerns. This is mainly the local drinks of the the Ilocanos (Ilokos) in San Ildefonso. This has been rampant before the Spanish came here in the Philippines. This is made of sugarcane and extracting the juice and then boiled in vats. This is then stored in earthen jars.
